In the metaphor and beauty of a nest, an empty boat, a bird in flight, trees in a forest, or the Hudson River I seek to bring the wondrous into focus. My art work expresses the the visible and the invisible.

I have been painting empty boats as symbols of limitless possibility for 8 or 9 years. Recently the boat vessel form became a nest vessel form quite organically in my painting process. It is appropriate for me personally because it marks a change in my life. I also view the nest as a celebration of both what has been and of what may be. For me nests are a thing of beauty and the process of making them is equally important in the meditative quality of the painting and drawing of the form.

I grew-up in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. The Hudson River and the local landscape drew me back to Hastings as an adult, where I live with my two children. Living on the Hudson River provides endless inspiration and fuels my spirit.
