Elizabeth de Bethune

Elizabeth de Bethune has been painting, drawing and printing in the Hudson Valley for the last 20 years. Her work combines information from observation, with an eye to toward articulating form, with decorative patterning and flat elements that ornament the surface.

Elizabeth de Bethune has an MFA in Painting and Drawing from SUNY Purchase, and BA in Fine Art from Yale University, and has studied at the New York Studio School, Brooklyn College, Manhattan Graphic Center, Women’s Studio Workshop, Vermont Studio Center, Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Skidmore Art teacher’s Summer Residency, among others.

A 20 year resident of Yonkers, she runs the Art program at the High School of American Studies at Lehman College.
