As an artist I work hard to develop images that reflect my interest in surrealism. Some of the major surrealistic artists are one’s you may be familiar with, such as Salvadore Dali, Rene Magritte, Max Ernst and Leonora Carrington. My work compromises what is described as photomontage or collage and uses pieces of many photographs to create one seemless work of art. I try with every work to give the viewer autonomy in developing their own ideas about what the individual parts and the finished work as a whole means. I incorporate the dada/surrealist ideas of taking an object and changing how one ordinarily sees it usefulness. Marcel Duchamp was a leader is this type of repurposing.
