Encaustic painting is fun—you work with a blowtorch, hot wax, and a pancake griddle. Weird, right? I desperately try to control the wax with the fire, to make the geometric shapes and straight lines I picture in my head, and the wax does its own thing. So I reframe my expectations as the wax decides where it wants to go. I’m beginning to think it’s all a metaphor for something.

And by day I run a small creative agency.
